In 1969, a group of passionate young entrepreneurs founded Celestial Seasonings upon the principles of promoting a healthy lifestyle with flavourful herbal teas. The herbs were harvested by hand in the Rocky Mountains, and then dried and packaged in hand-sewn muslin bags and sold to local health food stores. By staying committed to their vision, the founders of Celestial Seasonings turned their cottage industry into an almost overnight success.

Celestial Seasonings teas have always been 100% natural. We source more than 100 of the finest all-natural raw materials and ingredients from more than 35 countries around the world, and we expertly blend them into delicious teas that are always free of artificial preservatives, colours and flavours.

Forty years have passed, and Celestial Seasonings remains true to our founders’ mission to consistently provide “superior products” that help people live healthier lives, while still maintaining our founding principles, like farmer-friendly trading practices and the use of sustainable materials. Our packaging is not only esthetically beautiful, our tea boxes use 100% recycled paperboard, including 35% post-consumer waste, and can be recycled again when empty. Best of all, because our unique pillow-style tea bag doesn’t need a string, tag, staple or individual wrapper, we save 3.5 million pounds of waste from entering landfills every year!
